All candidates for a Bachelors of Science degree in Management must satisfy the General Studies requirements, the business core course requirements, the School of Business requirements and the major requirements described in the following sections. The basic structure of the Management program is:

* The College’s multicultural requirement may be satisfied by taking an approved multicultural course in general studies or electives portion of the degree requirement. The School of Business does offer one of these courses, MGT 4830 Workforce Diversity.
Note: Unrestricted Elective credits may vary. Total unrestricted electives must be sufficient for student to meet the College’s minimum required 120 credit hours.

General Studies:
The academic foundation for a successful business career or graduate work is a broad liberal arts education. Note:
* MTH 1110 or MTH 1400, with graphing calculator experience strongly recommended, is acceptable for transfer students or students changing their major. Consult with the Mathematical and Computer Sciences Department on substitutions. General Studies Level II:

Business Core:
All business majors require foundation course work in all significant areas of business theory and practice. The following courses are required for all majors in management. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in each business core course to have that course count toward the Bachelors of Science degree in management. A student cannot register for a business core course until all General Studies Level I courses are complete. Total Hours Required in Business Core: 33

Management Major Requirements:
The management major consists of eight courses (6 required management courses and 2 management elective courses). A minimum grade of “C” is required in each of the eight courses. Management Electives:*
Plus 6 hours from any MGT 3000 or 4000 level course, such as, but not limited to: *Suggestions for Electives:
Students interested in Human Resource Management should take: MGT 4610, MGT 4620, MGT 4640, or MGT 3240.
Students interested in Production/Operations Management should take: MGT 4000, MGT 4050, MGT 4550, or MGT 4650.
Students interested in Entrepreneurship should take: MGT 4020 or MGT 4420.
Students may take more than 2 Management Elective courses. Additional Management courses will be counted as General Electives.
MGT 4830 Workforce Diversity has been approved as a Multicultural and Senior Experience course.
Students may want to consider adding the International Business Certificate to their degree program.

Note:
To earn a Bachelor’s degree in management, a student must successfully complete 30 or more credit hours of business course work at MSCD. This 30-hour residency requirement can be met by completing any business courses with the prefix ACC, CIS, FIN, MGT and MKT and a course number of at least 2000 except FIN 2250. A student must complete at least twelve (12) upper-division semester hours in Management at MSCD.
A grade of “C” or better must be earned in each management major course in order to have that course count toward the Bachelors of Science degree in Management. International Business Concentration for Business Majors Only
The International Business Concentration provides students majoring in business disciplines with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the rapidly changing global business, legal and cultural environment.
In addition to the major degree program requirements, the concentration requires 18 to 22 hours in international courses: a 12 hour core and six hours of approved international electives. Some students pursuing an International Business Concentration may need more than 120 semester hours of credit to graduate. Interested students should contact an International Business Advisor as early in their degree program as possible.
Coursework used to meet the requirements for the concentration may not be used to meet the requirements for a major. Some courses in the International Concentration program have prerequisites which must be satisfied. These prerequisites do not count towards the concentration. A student must complete at least nine (9) upper-division semester hours in courses applied toward the International Business Concentration. Plus 6 hours from the following courses:
