Event and Meeting Management Major, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in Event and Meeting Management is a degree program designed for students seeking careers as event and meeting professionals under titles such as Event or Meeting Coordinator, Manager, Designer, Architect or Producer. Meeting and Event Management is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor as a specific business sector, separate and distinct from Lodging and Tourism and this degree prepares students for multiple career paths within this growing profession. The in-depth course of study examines the interrelated industry components of meetings, conventions, trade shows, special events (including weddings) and specialty areas not routinely taught in other programs, such as corporate meeting planning, global meeting planning and advanced risk management. Full time event and meeting faculty hold the Certified Meeting Professional designation and maintain active participation in industry associations, advisory board and committees.
