This certificate of completion is intended to provide additional knowledge and skills in the area of Non-Profit Studies. This certificate program is designed for working professionals and non-degree-seeking students who may or may not have a baccalaureate or master’s degree or agency training in the administration and management of nonprofit and public organizations. Non-degree students may register for each course sequentially, or select only those classes that meet their professional goals (non-certificate). All courses within this certificate can be applied toward the completion of the Human Services major.

In order to qualify for the Nonprofit Studies Certificate, an applicant must be accepted as an MSU Denver student. Each student must also complete a minimum of 150 hours of volunteer experience in a nonprofit agency while enrolled in the certificate program that applies the skills learned in the classroom. If the student can demonstrate that s/he has at least 500 hours work experience in a nonprofit organization, paid or unpaid, this requirement may be waived. Students must complete each course in the certificate program with a grade of “C” or better. The courses cannot be taken pass/fail.
