Cadastral surveying is that branch of surveying which specifically applies to the original and retracement surveys of the Public Domain. The practicing surveyor is usually a registered or licensed land surveyor in accordance with state statutes.

1. The following courses comprise the program:

SUR 2550 - Surveying Computations
SUR 3200 - Government Records and Regulations
SUR 3210 - Case Studies and Legal Research
SUR 3400 - Professional Ethics and Critical Reasoning
SUR 3540 - Boundary Law I
SUR 3800 - Public Land Survey System
SUR 4110 - Advanced Cadastral Surveying
SUR 4540 - Boundary Law II

Total: 20

2. A minimum of seven courses (20 credits) must be completed.

Prerequisites for the courses listed above may include, depending on the specific courses chosen, one or more of the following: SUR 2520 - Surveying II and SUR 3210 - Case Studies and Legal Research, in addition to college courses in calculus, probability and statistics, and physics.
